During a 40-year military career, Edgar Stanton was involved in all facets of military financial management.

To better understand the stressful enigma of Defense Department budgets, LMI has added retired Army Lt. Gen. Edgar Stanton III as a senior adviser.

“Ed has witnessed the full range of financial issues facing our military, and his perspective will strengthen our ability to help our federal clients through this new environment of new and uncertain budget realities,” LMI President and CEO Nelson Ford said in the May 23 announcement.

During his 40-year military career, Stanton was involved in every facet of military financial management.

He most recently served as the Army’s military deputy for budget to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Financial Management and Comptroller supporting the Army’s global strategic mission by directing budget development and devising financial management policies for eight annual budgets totaling over $1.5 trillion.

Stanton holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Florida State University and a master’s degree in operations research and systems analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School.
