Guident gains $18M EPA task order for software upgrades

Guident, a business intelligence and services provider to the government, will provide professional technical consulting to the Environmental Protection Agency under a blanket purchase agreement and subsequent task order worth almost $18 million.

The five-year BPA covers professional technical consulting in the areas of Oracle-based systems development and migration services at EPA headquarters in Washington, D.C., at its Research Triangle Park, N.C., location, as well as at regional offices across the United States, according to a May 21 company announcement.

The five-year task order from EPA’s Office of Emergency Management is for the development, maintenance, and operation of enterprise-wide information management tools to support emergency preparedness, prevention, and response activities.

“The Oracle Database Management System is the standard environment for the EPA,” Guident Executive Vice President Dan Ackerman said in the announcement.

The BPA will enable Guident to develop major mission-critical systems using Oracle software throughout the agency, he explained.

The Herndon, Va., company has had a partnership with EPA since 2003, serving 18 different offices and managing over 50 projects.
