Catapult Technology president to retire

Barry Kane concludes several decades of IT service in both the public and private sectors.

Barry Kane, president of Catapult Technology, Ltd., is retiring, the company announced May 8.

His last day is May 31. The company said retirement is the start of a new phase in his life after a career spanning 20 years in the Coast Guard and 23 in the private sector.

Kane joined Catapult in 2006 to manage the company’s day-to-day operations. During his tenure as president, Catapult’s revenue increased from $49 million in 2006 to $146 million in 2011.

“We knew Barry’s track record of acquiring new work, expanding existing contracts, building and running an efficient organization and exceeding revenue and profit estimates” when he was hired in 2006, said Randy Slager, CEO, chairman, and founder of Catapult.

Kane had a 20-year Coast Guard career culminating as the telecommunications division chief in Coast Guard headquarters. In the private sector, he was senior vice president at CACI and executive vice president and chief operating officer of AlphaInsight, executive vice president at Signal Corp. and vice president at Synetics Corp.
