Dell goes north of border for latest acquisition
Acquisition of Make Technologies gives computer giant end-to-end solutions from hardware through application migration services.
Dell Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Make Technologies, a global provider of application modernization software and services for re-engineering applications.
Financial terms of the deal were not reported in the April 5 announcement.
Make Technologies’ approach to the automation of application and code migration has helped IT departments significantly reduce both volume of code and associated operational costs.
With the acquisition of the Vancouver, British Columbia, company, the purchase of Clerity Solutions Inc. and existing Dell Services capabilities, Dell can provides end-to-end solutions from hardware through application migration services, the computer giant said.
Dell on Wednesday announced its acquisition of Clerity Solutions, a provider of applications modernization and re-hosting solutions and services.
Make Technologies’ approximately100 employees will join the Dell Services team.
“The addition of Make Technologies and Clerity Solutions to Dell Services positions us to lead in the fast-growing applications modernization space,” Dell Services President Steve Schuckenbrock said in the announcement.
The transaction, which remains subject to customary conditions, is expected to close in the second quarter of Dell’s fiscal year.
Dell Inc., of Round Rock, Texas, ranks No. 15 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
