TechAmerica taps industry veteran as new president, CEO
Industry group's search for a new leader ends as former CEO of Ulticom Inc. assumes new job.
TechAmerica today named Shawn Osborne its new president and CEO. He assumes his duties immediately.
He replaces Phil Bond, who stepped down on Nov. 1. Osborne brings over 20 years of private sector leadership and a deep understanding of the Washington policy atmosphere to the trade association position, the March 13 announcement said.
He previously served as president, CEO and director of Ulticom Inc., a provider of communications enabling software.
During his 14 years with the company, Osborne led Ulticom from a small professional services organization to a world leader in telecommunications signaling products. He also led Ulticom through a successful NASDAQ public offering.
Osborne also has held several positions on the board of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) including that of board chair.
“Shawn’s superior mix of private sector and trade association experience set him apart from a pool of extremely qualified applicants,” Peter Boni, chairman of the TechAmerica board of directors and president and CEO of Safeguard Scientifics Inc., said in the announcement.
