CSC’s new president, CEO takes over Monday

When Computer Sciences Corp. announced last month that Mike Lawrie would succeed retiring President and CEO Michael Laphen no later than March 31, the company did not say precisely when the transition would take place.

Now we know.

According to a CSC announcement today, Lawrie will officially begin his tenure as the company’s top executive on Monday, March 19.

Lawrie has extensive global experience in the IT and software industry including 27 years at IBM, where he served as senior vice president and group executive with responsibility for sales and distribution of IBM’s products and services worldwide.

His leadership in transforming global enterprises and driving operational excellence across complex organizations will help CSC achieve its strategic business objectives, the March 16 announcement said.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
