AOL reportedly will trim more workers next week
Tech workers at the Palo Alto, Calif., facility are said to be the most likely target.
Struggling Internet provider AOL is trimming costs amid declining sales and plans more job cuts, including workers at its AIM instant-message service, according to Bloomberg News citing two people familiar with the matter.
The layoffs reportedly will focus on technology teams in the company’s Palo Alto, Calif., office. The number of employees to be let go and the positions to be slashed hasn’t been announced, although one source said fewer than 100 workers will be affected there.
But the news agency, citing technology news website PandoDaily, said AOL is planning to eliminate hundreds of jobs next week, including at its Patch local Internet unit.
