SAIC provides professional, technical services to DOD components
Services include nuclear-related technical assessments for the assistant secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs.
Science Applications International Corp. will provide technical and analytic services to the Defense Department under a five-year contract that has a ceiling value of $95 million, according to a Feb. 9 SAIC announcement.
Under the prime contract, SAIC will provide professional, technical, analytical and executive-level administrative services to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear, Chemical, and Biological Defense Programs and other DOD components.
Services include nuclear-related technical assessments; improvement of processes and productivity; and providing management and integration of programs and projects internal to or between federal agencies.
Work will be performed primarily in the National Capital Region.
The OASD (NCB) is the principal adviser to the secretary of Defense for all matters concerning DOD nuclear weapons, chemical demilitarization, chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear defense, cooperative threat reduction and arms control, the announcement said.
SAIC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 6 on Washington Technology's 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
