CGI unit expedites visa processing in Central America
Task order from State covers visa application processing, providing information to applicants and fee collections.
Stanley Associates Inc., a subsidiary of CGI Federal Inc., will apply its technology skills to help the State Department expedite visa applications in Central America under a five-year firm-fixed-price task order worth $17.9 million.
The award from State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs calls for Stanley to provide business process support services to assist with the processing of non-immigrant and immigrant visa applications, including providing information to applicants about the visa application process as well as fee collection, appointment services, and document delivery at U.S. embassies and consulates in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama.
With this task order, CGI Federal now supports visa processing operations in 25 countries across four regions: Asia, Russia and its southern neighbors, West Africa and Central America.
The task order stems from CGI Federal’s 10-year multiple award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity Global Support Strategy services contract for visa support. This is the fifth task order won under the GSS contract.
CGI Federal is a subsidiary of CGI Group Inc., of Montreal, Que., and ranks No. 41 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
