CSC tasked with training budding Navy top guns
Task order calls for simulator and virtual training at Virginia and Florida naval air stations.
Computer Sciences Corp. has won a five-year, $60 million Navy task order to conduct aviation-training programs.
CSC will provide instructors for aviation-simulator training at four naval air stations – in Oceana and Norfolk, Va., and in Jacksonville and Mayport, Fla. – along with its primary subcontractor, Logistic Services International Inc., a training company in Jacksonville.
The collaborative training programs combine live, virtual and constructive training, which help reduce training costs, said Alan Weakley, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Defense Group, in the Jan. 25 news release.
The task order was awarded under the Fielded Training Systems Support (FTSS) III contract, originally awarded to CSC in 2010.
CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
