STG’s new VP tends to defense sector clients

Tamara Rush will be responsible for operations management and strategic growth of Army clients in the Aberdeen, Md., region.

Tamera Rush has joined STG Inc. as vice president of its defense sector, the company announced today.

She will to provide IT support services to the sector’s current customers including the Army Research Laboratory, Army Test and Evaluation Command, Communications-Electronics Command and Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center, according to the Nov. 17 company statement.

Rush will also be responsible for operations management and strategic growth in the Aberdeen, Md., region.

Before joining STG, she served as SRC Inc.’s federal market director in Aberdeen.

Rush has a masters degree in organic chemistry, a bachelors in chemistry and secondary education from the State University of New York at Potsdam.

She is the recipient of the Hammer Award for her work involving the reinvention of government principles that support the development of non-toxic ammunition. She was named the 2011 Athena International Award for Women’s Leadership.

STG Inc., of Reston, Va., ranks No. 88 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
