STG taps former GDIT exec as chief technology officer
STG hires Rick Parkington, formerly a CTO at General Dynamics Information Technology, as its senior vice president and chief technology officer.
STG Inc. has hired Rick Parkington as senior vice president and chief technology officer.
He will be responsible for the development and implementation of STG’s technical solutions and he will oversee the solution architect team and internal IT division, according to a Nov. 9 company announcement.
Before joining STG, Parkington served as vice president and CTO in the intelligence solutions division of General Dynamics Information Technology.
He was a Navy pilot prior to entering private industry.
Parkington holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the U.S. Naval Academy, a master's in engineering and information management from George Washington University, an master's onternational relations from Salve Regina University, and an master's in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College.
STG, of Reston, Va., is a mid-tier government contractor specializing in enterprise network operations, cyber security, financial services, systems engineering and integration, and software engineering. The company is ranked No. 88 on the 2011 Washington Technology Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
