Acentia hires chief architect for strategy and innovation

Acentia, formerly known as Interactive Technology Solutions, has hired Tom Woteki as chief architect for strategy and solutions development.

Woteki is a veteran technology executive with more than 25 years of experience with large-scale systems engineering, integration, and software development in the public and private sectors, a Nov. 16 company announcement said.

In his new role as chief architect, Woteki will lead the effort to develop Acentia’s Centers of Excellence to support its customers’ needs. He also will help to sharpen the company’s focus and solidify its position in healthcare information technology, as well identify and integrate new technologies into the company's key customer solutions offerings, the announcement explained.

Prior to joining Acentia, Woteki was director and general manager of Cisco’s health care solutions business unit, where he was responsible for the development of the company’s portfolio of health care solutions.

Before Cisco, Woteki was an executive in a division of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, where he managed large-scale systems integration and e-business solutions programs.

Before that, he served as CIO and senior vice president of the American Red Cross and also as director of worldwide clinical data systems at Merck Research Labs, the R&D division of Merck Pharmaceuticals.
