ICF continues data aid as CDC wages fight against AIDS

ICF International Inc. will continue to provide data management services to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under a five-year contract valued at $9.7 million.

Having won the CDC re-compete contract, ICF will continue operating the Data Coordinating Center for the National HIV Behavioral Surveillance System and the Medical Monitoring Project by providing data management, technical assistance and training support to CDC and its funded grantees, an Oct. 11 company announcement said.

Additionally, ICF will continue the maintenance of the comprehensive standardized data management lifecycle system for these projects.

ICF won the initial CDC contract to create the Data Coordinating Center in 2008.

The National HIV Behavioral Surveillance System is CDC’s most comprehensive system for conducting behavioral surveillance among persons at the highest risk for HIV infection in the United States, according to the announcement.

The Medical Monitoring Project produces population-based estimates of characteristics of persons with HIV infection living in the U.S. and the care they receive.

ICF International Inc., of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 64 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
