ITT drafts retired Army general to build Hill, DOD ties
ITT Corp. has named retired Army Lt. Gen. Robert Durbin vice president of government relations for its ITT Defense & Information Solutions segment.
ITT Corp. has named retired Army Lt. Gen. Robert Durbin vice president of government relations for its ITT Defense & Information Solutions segment.
Durbin will be responsible for building productive relationships with members of Congress, congressional committees and their staffs to provide guidance on proposed legislation and regulations that affect ITT’s Defense Department programs, according to a July 11 company announcement.
Durbin also will establish and maintain relationships with senior DOD personnel, military service staffs and government agencies and he will be a focal point for coordinating a technical interface with these customers, the company said.
He will also be responsible for supporting long-range marketing strategy and business planning, the announcement said.
Durbin joins ITT after more than 36 years of Army service, most recently as director of the Army Office of Business Transformation and special assistant to the chief of staff of the Army for enterprise management, responsible for the Army’s investment strategy.
Durbin holds a bachelor’s of science degree from the United States Military Academy and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University. He also completed the Senior Service College at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
