General Dynamics supports Air Force with imagery intelligence analysis

General Dynamics Corp. will provide battlespace awareness and other support to the Air Force under a task order worth $4.7 million.

The award stems from a five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity Advanced Technical Exploitation Program contract awarded in 2009.

The task order calls for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems business unit to support the Air Force’s National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC).

Under this task order, General Dynamics will directly support national priorities, including overseas operations and missile defense, by providing hyper-spectral and multi-spectral imagery production and analysis, data processing and analysis, analytic support, publishing and distribution, and training, according to a company announcement.

NASIC serves as the national and Defense Department’s executive agent for the processing, exploitation, analysis, integration and dissemination of measurement and signature intelligence data collected from radar, electro-optical and infrared technical sensors.

The center prepares signatures of threat targets, develops analytical tools for technical analysis and provides these techniques for the fusion of data in direct support of DOD operational missions and its partners throughout the intelligence community.

The majority of work will be performed in Dayton, Ohio.

General Dynamics has been serving NASIC as a prime contractor since 2001, the announcement states.
