General Dynamics Corp. will improve air traffic coordination in the busy Los Angeles area as the result of a $4.2 million contract from the municipal airports authority.
Under the terms of the award, General Dynamics Information Technology will provide core systems for the Airport Response Coordination Center managed by the Los Angeles World Airports department, which owns and operates Los Angeles International, LA/Ontario International and Van Nuys airport.
This new system will provide the Airport Response Coordination Center with expanded regional response and air traffic control contact capabilities.
General Dynamics has provided the Situational Awareness Management System, video-management and display systems, and will integrate radio communications and networks.
GDIT also developed a video wall that includes integrated digital-video displays overlaid with geographic information systems and mapping data.
