Former EPA climate policy advocate becomes Siemens lobbyist

Siemens Corp. has hired former EPA executive David McIntosh as its vice president for federal lobbying, effective June 27. He will help oversee legislative and regulatory issues within the company’s Government Affairs Office, according to a June 9 Siemens announcement.

McIntosh previously served as a senior political adviser to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson and the associate administrator for congressional and intergovernmental relations.

In those roles, he was responsible for the agency's interactions with members of Congress and state government officials. He also served as Jackson's lead political strategist on climate policy and implementation of the Clean Air Act.

"From energy, to industry and healthcare, David will help lead the advocacy efforts of the Siemens Government Affairs team," said Kathleen Ambrose, senior vice president of Siemens’ Government Affairs unit.

Previously, McIntosh served on President Barack Obama's Presidential Transition Team and acted as counsel and legislative assistant for energy and the environment for Sen. Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.).

McIntosh, a Harvard Law School graduate and former law clerk to a U.S. District Court judge, also served as a staff attorney at the Natural Resources Defense Council.

He will work in Washington, D.C, at the new U.S. headquarters of Siemens Corp., a subsidiary of Siemens AG, which specializes in electronics and electrical engineering in the energy, industry and healthcare sectors.
