SAIC wins $90M award to support DISA computing center

The task order, which was awarded under the DISA Encore II indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract, calls for SAIC to provide technical and operations support to the Defense Enterprise Computing Center in Montgomery, Ala.
SAIC will help sustain the production, development and testing of DISA systems in the agency's complex IT environment, which supports 1.2 million users worldwide, according to the announcement.
The contractor also will provide service operations assistance; technical support; information assurance; facilities; and support for the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application.
As part of DISA's Computing Services Directorate, DECC Montgomery provides world-class processing capability, systems management, communications and storage in support of Defense Department services, agencies and combatant commands.
SAIC, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
