L-3 takes on $300M worth of logistics tasks for Navy, Air Force

Under the initial contract, valued at $32.9 million, L-3 Systems Field Support unit will provide life-cycle contractor support and maintenance of the Navy and Air Force fleets of C-12 aircraft, their systems, subsystems and support equipment worldwide, according to an L-3 announcement dated May 24.
This contract effort encompasses full maintenance and logistics support for 65 Navy C-12 aircraft at 21 locations worldwide and 28 Air Force C-12 aircraft at 19 locations worldwide.
Last year L-3 Systems Field Support was awarded a five-year, $440 million contract for life-cycle contractor support of C-12, RC-12 and UC-35 aircraft operated by the Army, Army Reserves and Army National Guard.
The L-3 Systems Field Support unit, based in Madison, Miss., has been providing maintenance and logistics support to Navy and Air Force C-12 aircraft and their associated support equipment for more than 30 years, the announcement states.
L-3 Communications Corp., of New York City, ranks No. 8 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
