Harris promotes health care unit VP to president
Jim Traficant, previously vice president and general manager of Harris Corp.’s Healthcare Solutions, has been promoted to president of the business unit.

Traficant has more than 20 years of experience in business development and operational leadership in government and commercial markets.
He previously served as vice president of programs and business development for Harris IT Services and also was the business development vice president of Harris Government Communications Systems Division, the company has announced.
In March, Traficant was named to Federal Computer Week's annual Federal 100 list of IT leaders.
The promotion coincides with Harris’ expansion into the commercial health care sector and its acquisition of Carefx, a provider of interoperable workflow solutions for healthcare givers, which was completed under Traficant’s leadership, the company said.
Traficant is a member of the Health Information and Management Systems Society and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association. He also is on the board of directors of Cancer Treatment Services International and serves as a director for United Network for Organ Sharing.
Traficant has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Geneva College and a master's degree in business administration from George Washington University.
