Access Systems Inc. has won a five-year, $26.2 million recompete contract for services and support to the Marine Corps’ Ammunition Automated Information Systems Program for the Program Manager for Ammunition.

Access Systems Inc. has won a five-year, $26.2 million recompete contract for services and support to the Marine Corps.

As a result, the Reston, Va., IT solutions provider will continue to provide assistance to the Marine Corps’ Ammunition Automated Information Systems (AAIS) Program for the Program Manager for Ammunition, according to a May 2 company announcement.

PM Ammo, as the program is called, is an independent program manager in the Marine Corps Systems Command. It awarded the contract under the General Services Administration's Alliant Small Business Governmentwide Acquisition Contract (GWAC).

Under the GWAC award, the Access team, which includes its partner, One Network Enterprises, will provide program management, contract data management, configuration management, quality assurance, risk management, program and project reviews, sensitive data handling procedures, and software and licenses procurement, the announcement said.

The team also will provide source code, systems maintenance products and activities, corrective and preventive maintenance products and activities, perfective and adaptive maintenance products and activities, Tier 1 help desk, development and testing environments, and transition planning for the AAIS portfolio.

Since April 2008, the Access team has worked closely with PM Ammo to provide solutions that have enabled AAIS users to manage more than $6 billion in ammunition assets, reduce error rates by more than 61 percent and extend efficiency, effectiveness and functionality to remote Marine Corps users.

PM Ammo is responsible for research and development, acquisition activities and total life=cycle management for all conventional ground ammunition required by the Marine Corps.
