CA Technologies’ acquisition extends reach in government sector
CA Technologies is extending its reach into the public sector with the announced purchase of Base Technologies, a private consulting firm focused on the management of government IT assets.
CA Technologies, a global Fortune 500 provider of IT management software and solutions, is extending its reach into the public sector with the announced purchase of Base Technologies, a private consulting firm focused on the management of government IT assets.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not released.
Base Technologies, of McLean, Va., will remain a wholly owned subsidiary managed by the current team.
The acquisition combines Base Technologies' public sector experience and technical expertise with CA Technologies' products, services and experience in the public sector helping customers to align with the Federal CIO’s 25 Point Technology Reformation Plan introduced last December, according to information posted on the CA website.
The acquisition increases the technical capabilities of CA Services and further strengthens CA Technologies and its alliance partners' ability to execute on all stages of the federal buying cycle. This allows the company to better take advantage of a growing $86 billion market for government software and IT services, a CA statement today said.
"The acquisition of Base Technologies further expands our role as a strategic partner and adviser to U.S. Public Sector customers on all computing environments and platforms," said Adam Elster, general manager of CA Services, of Islandia, N.Y.
Base Technologies has 23 years of experience in the public sector, with customers such as the Defense and Homeland Security departments, National Institutes of Health, and the Federal Aviation Administration, among others.
