Computer Sciences Corp. will continue to help the Labor Department process workers’ compensation claims under a new seven-year contract that has an estimated total value of $143 million.

The award calls for the contractor to implement and operate the Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs’ Central Bill Process service.

Under the terms of the contract, CSC will provide services to process medical bills, facilitate prior authorization of services, respond to inquiries related to medical benefits through a call center and service-oriented, architecture-based systems, and implement a fraud and abuse detection program.

The award continues CSC’s more than 25 years of supporting Labor’s services to Office of Workers’ Compensation beneficiaries, said Mike Gaffney, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Civil and Health Services group.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 10 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
