Booz Allen names new chief operating officer

Company taps 20-year veteran for new post as COO.

Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. has chosen Horacio Rozanski to be executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company, a new position for the Top 100 contractor.

“This new position recognizes the broad scope of Horacio’s responsibilities and impact in our firm,” Ralph Shrader, the company's chairman, CEO and president, said in a statement.

Rozanski has been with the company since 1992 and most recently was chief strategy and talent officer.

“He will work closely with me and with Chief Financial Officer Sam Strickland to more tightly execute the firm’s strategy, driving operational excellence and efficiencies,” Shrader said.

Rozanski holds an MBA the University of Chicago and a BBA from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. He sits on the boards of directors for the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts and the Hidden Brain Drain task force.

Booz Allen is ranked No. 9 on Washington Technology's 2010 Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
