Robbins-Gioia LLC has been awarded two IT contracts from the Defense Logistics Agency that have a combined value of approximately $4.5 million.

The first award, an 18-month contract valued at $2.38 million, calls for program management support services to the DLA Information Operations Systems Engineer Office.

Using standardized and disciplined systems engineering principles, Robbins-Gioia will assist DLA in improving its acquisition process, enabling simultaneous product and process development based on a total system design solution that balances cost, schedule, performance and risk, the contractor explained in a news release today.

The Alexandria, Va., provider of project management services to the government and DLA will create a solution that is economical and sustainable throughout the project life cycle, facilitating Robbins-Gioia’s creation of a center of excellence that will provide subject matter expertise and support, the statement added.

The second award, worth $2.13 million, is for 12 months’ worth of support services to the DLA Information Operations Enterprise Architecture, including assistance in delivering to DLA an enterprise architecture for the IT systems under its purview.

Robbins-Gioia and DLA will first identify the current enterprise architecture and use it as a basis to evolve and deliver enterprise-level data, infrastructure, and application component architectures.

In addition, the contractor will provide the DLA lead architect with enterprise architecture support and assume leadership for DLA’s current enterprise business system.

As a combat logistics organization, DLA is responsible for providing the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, other federal agencies, and joint and allied forces with a variety of logistics, acquisition and technical services.

These services include procuring and distributing more than 5 million consumable items, such as rations, medical supplies and equipment, clothing and textiles, repair parts for land, sea and air weapons systems and platforms, as well as fuel and energy services.
