General Dynamics gains Army intell award for IT services

General Dynamics Corp. will support the Army Intelligence and Security Command with a range of IT services under a four-year, $61.8 million task order.

According to the task order, General Dynamics IT, a unit of General Dynamics, will provide sustaining, uninterrupted IT operations and maintenance support to the command and its subordinate units. The company also will help them create and share critical intelligence products with Army users worldwide, according to a company announcement today.

The work consists of help-desk management, networking and systems operations, network administration, and software and network maintenance, including equipment repair tasks on-site or through warranty services.

The company also will provide information assurance services to secure networks, systems and data from potential threats.

General Dynamics IT also will provide the command with knowledge management solutions.

The Intelligence and Security Command includes 16,000 soldiers, civilians and contractors at more than 180 locations around the globe.

Work on this contract will be conducted at the command's headquarters at Fort Belvoir, Va., and other locations, such as Fort Meade, Md.; Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.; Fort Sam Houston, Texas; Fort Bliss, Texas; Camp Bullis, Texas; Fort Huachuca, Ariz.; Fort Bragg, N.C.; and Fort Leavenworth, Kan.

General Dynamics also will support Army intelligence customers with worldwide deployment as needed.
