Granicus expands government cloud computing platform
Granicus Inc., a vendor of cloud computing solutions for government agencies, announced it has acquired Webcasting.com.
Granicus Inc., a provider of cloud computing solutions for government agencies, announced it has acquired Webcasting.com, a privately held vendor of live and on-demand streaming services. Financial terms were not disclosed.
The acquisition brings more than 60 additional government agencies into Granicus' portfolio, for a total of more than 750 government clients in all 50 states, according to an announcement the San Francisco-based company released Aug. 25.
Company officials said their state and local government clients include the New York State Labor, Transportation, and Agriculture and Markets departments; the New York Power Authority; and the city of New Rochelle, N.Y.
The acquisition of Webcasting.com will give Granicus’ clients the opportunity to measure audience interest, provide keyword search across their media content, index live video and reach mobile devices, officials said.
