Criterion finds Hanson has right criteria for COO

J. Greg Hanson has been promoted to senior vice president and chief operating officer at Criterion Systems, a provider of technology-enabled business solutions to government agencies.

He will be in charge of all business operations and provide strategic leadership as Criterion Systems continues to expand its footprint in the federal marketplace, according to the company announcement today.

Company co-founder and former COO Mike Dillard assumes the posts of president and COO at sister company Criterion HPS.

Hanson joined Criterion, of Vienna, Va., in 2008 to lead the teams supporting mission-critical systems for the Defense and Homeland Security departments.

Previously, he served as chief information officer for the U.S. Senate.

Before that, Hanson held CTO positions at Universal Systems & Technology and Telos Corp., where he helped create five new businesses.

As chief software engineer for the Air Force, Hanson developed global software policies and led the agency’s Year 2000 program. He also served as chief scientist at NATO’s Central Region Headquarters.
