GSA wants vendor ideas to improve communications

Find opportunities — and win them.

The General Services Administration wants ideas from vendors to improve communication and collaboration.

The General Services Administration has started a Web 2.0 collaborative tool on a new Web site to talk with vendors who work with GSA's Public Buildings Service.

On June 21, the GSA Industry Relations office debuted the collaboration Web site that uses an Ideascale platform to collect ideas from vendors and allow vendors to vote on each other’s ideas. To date, seven ideas have been submitted, and 21 votes have been cast.

GSA started the collaboration site as part of its open government efforts, according to the agency's announcement.

GSA wants new ideas for increasing awareness of contractor opportunities available through the buildings service, maximizing vendor access to critical information and resources related to the buildings service, and providing support to vendors who do business with the service, the Web site states.

The ideas submitted include proposals to increase the number of vendor outreach meetings in the field, perform vendor matchmaking services to match contractors with subcontractors, and maintain a list of consultants.
