New CSC vice president’s portfolio covers cloud services

Computer Sciences Corp., which launched its cloud computing services just 16 months ago, has taken steps to strengthen the offering by hiring Siki Giunta as vice president of cloud computing and software services.

Giunta will have global responsibility for implementing CSC’s cloud computing strategy and advancing the company’s position in the market, according to a company announcement released May 6.

She will lead CSC’s newly formed Trusted Cloud and Hosting Business Group, said Russ Owen, president of CSC’s Managed Services Sector.

Giunta will use cloud capabilities to extend the company’s strength in consulting, systems design and integration, and cybersecurity, while expanding CSC's portfolio of industry solutions to be available on a software-as-a-service basis.

She will also work closely with Brian Boruff, who launched CSC’s cloud computing services and has been promoted to vice president of emerging technologies and strategic growth markets.

Prior to joining CSC, Giunta served as president and chief executive officer at Fortisphere and earlier at Managed Objects. She has also held leadership positions at Novell and Computer Associates.

Giunta has degrees from De Vedruna College in Rome and the Sorbonne in Paris.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 9 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
