SAIC secures $625M Navy award

SAIC is one of several contractors named to the five-year, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity multiple award contract, which has a ceiling value of more than $625 million for SAIC.
The award from the Navy’s Program Executive Office of Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (PEO C4I) calls for the company to develop the software as well as modify and enhance existing C2 systems.
Under the contract, SAIC will provide support for software engineering, design, development, integration and modification, as well as test and evaluation. The contractor also will provide integrated logistics support, and configuration and program management services as required, SAIC said in a statement today.
PEO C4I provides integrated communication and information technology systems, delivering end-to-end connectivity and enabling decision superiority to ensure mission success of U.S. naval forces, the statement said.
The office also acquires, fields and supports C4I systems across Navy, joint and coalition platforms.
The contract work will be performed primarily at Program Executive Office headquarters in San Diego.
SAIC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 7 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
