HHS CIO Mike Carleton has doubts about terminology

The topic of the breakfast meeting was “Government Transformation,” but Michael Carleton, chief information officer of the Health and Human Services Department, quickly made it clear that he had some doubts about the term. The March 30^th meeting in Rockville, Md. was sponsored by the Bethesda chapter of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.

“I have been a civil servant long enough to be skeptical about trotting out the ‘transformation’ word,” Carleton said. “I am a pretty skeptical consumer about transformation.”
