HHS gets $3.5M in help for Networx transition

The General Services Administration’s National Capital Region has awarded a $3.5 million contract to Access Systems Inc. to help the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) with its telecommunications transition.

Under the contract, Reston, Va.-based Access Systems and partner BCCP Consulting LLC will help HHS in making Fair Opportunity decisions in selecting telecom providers for the agency’s operational divisions under GSA’s Networx acquisition.

The contract also provides for help in transitioning services, such as 1-800-MEDICARE, from FTS2001 to Networx.

HHS is the fourth largest user of FTS2001 services.

“The Access team offers the unique and responsive capabilities to provide project management, systems engineering, telecommunications and IT technologies, and business operations to assure a smooth transition of HHS OPDIVs from the FTS2001 contract to the Networx contract,” said David Gardner, Access' chief operating officer.
