SAIC to manage MHS communications, computing infrastructure

Science Applications International Corp. will provide system performance management services for the Military Health System (MHS) under a five-year task order that could be worth more than $16 million if all options are exercised.

The task order from the Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity calls for SAIC to assist the Tri-Service Infrastructure Management Program Office, which manages the communications and computing infrastructure that supports the MHS information technology systems, according to an SAIC announcement.

Under the task order, SAIC will provide system monitoring and management services, and engineering support for the program office’s data transportation and processing infrastructure.

The contractor also will provide continuous network monitoring, management, engineering, reporting, and real-time fault isolation. Other services include status reporting, event correlation and network engineering support.

The task order was awarded under the Defense Medical Information Systems/Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services contract.

The work will be performed primarily in Falls Church, Va., San Diego and San Antonio.
