Mike Gaffney named to lead CSC health care services group

Mike Gaffney has been named president of Computer Sciences Corp.’s North American Public Sector Civil and Health Services Group.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks  on Washington Technology’s of the largest federal government prime contractors.

Mike Gaffney has been named president of Computer Sciences Corp.’s North American Public Sector Civil and Health Services Group.

Reporting to North American Public Sector President James Sheaffer, Gaffney will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for much of the company’s business with U.S. government civil, as well as state, agencies, according to a company announcement.

He also will lead CSC’s initiatives to bring the company’s global health care experience and expertise to federal and state government health care clients, the announcement said.

Gaffney joined CSC in 1991 and most recently served as president of business development for the North American Public Sector, where he was responsible for directing efforts to capture federal and state business. Previously, he was vice president of business development for the company's Defense Department group.

Gaffney was with Unisys Corp. for 13 years before joining CSC. He serves on the board of directors of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association, and is a member of the National Defense Industrial Association, the Association of the U.S. Army and the Navy League.

Gaffney has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Fordham University in New York. He also completed the Wharton School of Business Advanced Management Program.
