General Dynamics to support Defense Acquisition University

General Dynamics Information Technology will provide support for the technology and curriculum used to teach students at the Defense Acquisition University (DAU) under a five-year, $15.6 million contract. 

The company will furnish support to the DAU learning asset program, which governs the technology and curriculum used to teach students in the classroom or through the Internet, company officials said today.

Specifically, the company will furnish program office support, technical expertise in developing and sustaining learning assets life-cycle processes, and tools and best practices support.

General Dynamics also will supply enterprise solutions in the areas of learning management systems, analysis and learning asset configuration management, and distance learning. Learning assets include content in all its forms — PowerPoint presentations, Web-based modules, video clips — used to perform training or enhance learning.

The Defense Acquisition University, at Fort Belvoir, provides training, career management and services to the Defense acquisition, technology and logistics communities. Warfighters receive instruction in six program areas: acquisition management; information technology; procurement and contracting; technical management; business, cost estimating and financial management, and logistics.
