Telcos await awards on 38 Networx tasks

A total 131 statements of work have been awarded or are in the works under the General Services Administration’s Networx telecommunications contracts: 87 under Networx Universal, 43 under Networx Enterprise and one unspecified.

Agencies have made awards from 72 statements of work: 51 under Universal, 21 under Enterprise. The 22 largest agencies, which comprise 95 percent of the FTS 2001 crossover business volume, made 46 of the 72 awards, while smaller agencies account for the remaining 26.

Agencies have multiple options for transitioning existing services and acquiring new ones under the GSA Networx Universal and Enterprise contracts. For example, they can order from GSA’s Networx Pricer, a catalog of available telecom services.

For more complex acquisitions, however, agencies often rely on a statement of work in which they describe the services they seek and select one of the two Networx contracts through which to acquire the services.

GSA does a first scope review of the statements to ensure the requirements are in scope with the selected Networx contract. If corrections are needed, the agency makes them and returns them to GSA for a final in-scope review.

The statements of work are then released to Networx vendors; currently 38 new statements have been released to vendors and are awaiting award.

GSA is doing a final in-scope review of two statements and a first scope review of 24, half from large agencies.
