Raytheon Co. and its team of contractors will work with the Defense Information Systems Agency to thwart potential attacks on Defense Department cyber networks.

Under the $28 million contract, the Raytheon team will develop an integrated network operations situational awareness (NetOps SA) solution, which will enable DOD to quickly detect network intrusions and assess the overall health of its networks.

Among other implementations to provide NetOps SA, the Raytheon team will use a Computer Network Defense User Defined Operational Picture, an integration framework developed by team member General Dynamics Corp.

In addition to General Dynamics, the team members include Science Applications International Corp. and Eye Street Software Corp., of Herndon, Va.

Raytheon, of Waltham, Mass., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
