ManTech, Apptis partner to support Army information centers

ManTech International Corp. and Apptis Inc. are partnering on a $132.9 million contract to provide information technology and engineering support services to the Army.

As subcontractor on the two-year, competitively awarded effort, ManTech International can earn up to an estimated $40 million, according to a company announcement issued today. Apptis is the prime contractor on the project.

The award calls for ManTech to continue its mission-critical support to the Program Management office of the Defense Communications and Army Transmission Systems, which is responsible for global information connectivity at joint operations centers in the United States and overseas.

“Warfighters, major commands and combatant commanders worldwide rely on PM DCATS to provide communications connectivity,” said Lawrence Prior, ManTech International president and CEO.

ManTech will continue to provide information technology solutions including the design, integration, operations and maintenance of Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance.

Also, the company will oversee voice and visual applications, as well as capabilities and tools that support state-of-the-art joint operations centers connected to the worldwide Defense Information Systems Network.

ManTech International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 48 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors. Apptis, of Chantilly, Va., ranks No. 50 on the same Top 100 list.
