PSI attends to overseas military health care system

Planned Systems International Inc. will render information technology services to the Defense Department under a three-year task order with a total value of $8.3 million if all options are exercised.

The award calls for PSI to assist the Defense Health Information Management System Program Office with operations and maintenance support for AHLTA-Theater, the military’s electronic health record for all service personnel in a military theater environment.

AHLTA-T maintains a comprehensive, computer-based patient record for every soldier, sailor, airman, Marine and all beneficiaries entitled to DOD military health care in a theater of operations, company officials explained.

Under this task order, PSI and its team members, Evolvent Technologies Inc. and ASM Research Inc., will provide maintenance, sustainment and support services. The goal is to improve the system speed, reliability, data quality and usability of current AHLTA-T products, they said.

The new functions will improve patient safety and quality of care for approximately 9.4 million beneficiaries of the Military Health System TRICARE Program.

PSI is based in Columbia, Md., and its Health IT Solutions office is in Falls Church, Va.
