ManTech broadens IT aid to DIA media exploitation center

ManTech International Corp. will continue providing information technology services to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) under a new, competitively awarded prime contract valued at $76 million.

The award for IT operations and mission support at DIA’s National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) calls for ManTech to provide data center operations, network operations, software and systems engineering, and information assurance.

The contract also calls for the contractor to oversee requirements management, configuration management, and project and program management support.

ManTech is providing day–to-day operations and maintenance for NMEC’s IT infrastructure, software tools and storage, as well as Tier I, II, and III desktop and application support, according to a company announcement.

The NMEC’s mission is to exploit documents and electronic media captured on the battlefield to gain insight into adversary intentions and capabilities, the announcement explained. The center therefore requires petabytes of storage and the development of cutting-edge document and media exploitation tools.

The NMEC is under the auspices of the Director of National Intelligence with DIA as the executive agent.

ManTech’s team includes several small businesses and Science Applications International Corp.
