SRA to enhance Air Force analysis capabilities

SRA International Inc. will build a decision-making and documentation tool to support Air Force intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance efforts under a three-year, $19 million contract.

Under the contract, SRA will develop a Web-enabled central repository to facilitate the planning, programming and operational employment of Air Force reconnaissance equipment and its Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS), company officials said. Sept. 10.

Specifically, SRA will design interfaces that allow users to add information to the Air Force’s ISR database and construct models that perform independent analysis and experimentation, the officials said. The enhanced analytical capability will furnish the Air Force with the ability to make key policy, functional and programmatic decisions related to the continuing operation of DCGS. 

DCGS provides critical combat and operational activity decision-making information to the Joint Task Force and component commanders. It does this by consolidating a wide variety of ISR systems that gather information from satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles and other aerial platforms.

The Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance awarded the contract.
