NCI Information Systems Inc. will increase its assistance in the installation of new data center facilities at Fort Bragg, N.C., under a second task order worth approximately $4.2 million.

The Fort Bragg Data Centers Infrastructure task order is new work for NCI, according to a company announcement today. Earlier this month, NCI won a $48.9 million FORSCOM Base Realignment and Closing task order.

Together, the task orders support the relocation of the Army Forces Command, known as FORSCOM, and the Army Reserve Command headquarters from the Atlanta area to Fort Bragg.

Awarded through the Total Engineering Integrated Services contract, the project involves data network and storage infrastructure support for the new Installation Processing Node and Disaster Recovery Center facilities at Fort Bragg.

The IPN will house data centers for FORSCOM, the Army Reserve Command and the Fort Bragg Director of Infrastructure Management. The center will provide disaster recovery systems for both FORSCOM and the Army Reserve systems.

NCI and its team member, Booz Allen Hamilton Inc., will provide detailed engineering, procurement, installation, cutover, test, and integration services for the Fort Bragg Data Center Infrastructure work, said Terry Glasgow, NCI's president.

NCI, of Reston, Va., ranks No. 72 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
