L-3 to deliver Army satellite terminals
L-3 Communications Corp. will deliver satellite communication terminals to the Army and other tactical and logistics units under a contract with Eyak Technology.
L-3 Communications Corp. will provide satellite communication terminals for Army forces and other tactical and logistics units under a new $42.5 million follow-on contract.
Eyak Technology LLC awarded the contract to L-3’s Global Communications Solutions division, company officials said recently. L-3 will provide support for Very Small Aperture Terminals.
The work will be performed at L-3 Global Communications Solutions headquarters in Victor, N.Y. L-3 will deliver and field about 3,350 systems once work on the contract is completed, L-3 officials said.
L-3 has supplied more than 2,400 Hawkeye 1.2 meter VSAT units to the Army since 2004, said Bob Jacobson, executive vice president and general manager of L-3 GCS.
Earlier this year, L-3's Link Simulation and Training Division won a $22.8 million contract to provide training-related services and equipment to the Air Force's B-2 program.
L-3 Communications, based in New York City, ranks No. 8 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
