Three win $495M Air Force security systems deal

Three contractors will compete to provide the Air Force with force protection security services under a $495 million indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract.
L-3 Communications Corp., Northrop Grumman Corp., and Science Applications International Corp. each won contracts to provide the force protection services and support, the Air Force announced July 24.
Under the contract, the contractors will compete for tasks that include design and development, system installation and integration, system testing, system certification and accreditation, and logistical support related to force protection at Air Force installations in the United States and abroad.
The Air Force’s 642nd Electronic Systems Squadron at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass., is the contracting activity.
All three contractors appear on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
