New execs to spur Ericsson push into government markets

Ericsson Federal Inc. has hired six new executives to support its current government customer base and its plans to aggressively push further into the federal, state and local government markets.

EFI’s expanded leadership team “will strengthen Ericsson’s partnership with the U.S. government and help address the increasing need for wireline, wireless and broadband communications solutions,” according to a company statement today.

The new hires are:

  • Bob Dunn, senior vice president of business development, sales and marketing;
  • Dave Baciocco, vice president of business development, defense and intelligence;
  • Brian Fitzpatrick, vice president of business development, civilian;
  • John Klopacz, vice president of sales, DOD/commercial SATCOM providers;
  • Kristin Oelke, vice president of marketing;
  • Tim Shalvey, director of sales for civilian, state and local clients and channel partners.

Dunn will direct all EFI sales and marketing efforts to the U.S. federal government, intelligence community, military and public safety services. Prior to EFI, he was senior vice president of sales and marketing officer at PacStar Communications Inc.

Baciocco, a career Navy officer, is responsible for all EFI business development efforts for the Defense Department and the intelligence community. Prior to EFI, he worked at SAIC in management and business development for military and commercial satellite communications, UAVs, intelligence systems and networks, and space programs.

Fitzpatrick will focus on federal civilian agencies as well as the state and local market. His experience includes similar positions at Northrop Grumman Corp. and Siemens as well as 15 years of federal government service.

Klopacz is responsible for all EFI sales efforts within the DOD and the commercial satellite communications market. He previously led Nortel Government Solutions’ DOD global sales organization.

Oelke will focus on expanding awareness of EFI and its solutions portfolio across federal, state and local governments. She previously was the director of marketing for Sun Microsystems Federal Inc.

Shalvey is responsible for all EFI sales efforts within civilian agencies, state and local markets, and EFI’s channel strategy. He previously served as director of strategic alliances for Nortel Government Solutions.
