SRA, CSC form FAA airspace team

SRA International Inc. and Computer Sciences Corp., now known as CSC, are partnering to pursue the Federal Aviation Administration’s National Airspace System Integration Support Contract III.

SRA intends to bid as a prime on NISC III, slated to be awarded in early 2010, according to an SRA announcement made today.

“SRA has a long-standing commitment to the FAA and aviation communities -- and with CSC, we found a partner who shares our dedication for innovating air traffic management services and technologies,” SRA President and Chief Executive Officer Stan Sloane said.

Sloane said CSC, which has more than 35 years’ experience in air traffic management solutions, “will be truly beneficial in helping the SRA team provide the FAA with not only a maximized investment, but a proven platform to realize their next-generation goals.”

SRA has supported the FAA for more than 20 years with engineering, research and development services related to airport runway safety, airport planning and aircraft fire safety.

CSC has the mission-critical knowledge, depth of global experience and innovative technology needed to accelerate FAA’s NextGen plan and deliver new operational capabilities and improvements for its safety, security and environmental performance, said Tom Anderson, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector Civil and Government Health Services Group.

“We believe that the combined strength of this team will offer the FAA a platform of service needed for a successful NISC III program,” Anderson said.

SRA International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 26 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors. CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 9 on the Top 100 list.
