Perot Systems wins CDC infrastructure support work

Perot Systems Corp. will provide infrastructure support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under a contract that could be worth more than $119 million.

Having won the re-compete for the performance-based contract, Perot Systems Government Services, of Fairfax, Va., will provide a wide range of infrastructure support to CDC’s Information Technology Services Office nationally and internationally.

The office develops and coordinates plans, budgets, policies and procedures for CDC.

It also oversees all IT infrastructure services, which include personal computing hardware and software, network and e-mail directories and associated services, infrastructure software and IT infrastructure security, and networking and server support.

Perot Systems subsidiary QSS Group Inc. has been the contractor for those services since 2004.

“This is a cornerstone win for us in the public health market,” said Lee Carrick, president of Perot Systems Government Services, in a statement released June 29.

Perot Systems Corp., of Plano, Texas, ranks No. 40 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
