CGI provides IT services for Louisiana hurricane recovery

The CGI Group Inc. will assist Louisiana with information technology and business process services under a three-year contract worth $40 million.

CGI is partnering with Louisiana’s Division of Administration, Office of Community Development/Disaster Recovery Unit to deliver IT operations and service management to support Louisiana’s ongoing Road Home Program.

To successfully manage the complex series of IT interactions that support the Road Home program, CGI team will provide application maintenance, user support, data warehouse services and reporting, as well as disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning.

Louisiana established the Road Home Program, the largest single housing recovery program in U.S. history, following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita to provide financial assistance to property owners, CGI officials explained.

The CGI team includes local partners Sparkhound and Blue Streak Technologies in Baton Rouge, La.

CGI has the policy domain knowledge required to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the IT services supporting the Road Home program, said Paul Rainwater, executive director of the Louisiana Recovery Authority and the Office of Community Development, in a statement today.

CGI, of Montreal, ranks No. 73 on Washington Technology’s 2008 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
